Kothamba Sooru


Authentic Kerela Kothamba Sooru(Samba\Brown Ravai)

This is a typical South Indian dish prepared in Kerala sytle. Well suited for dinner, kids would love it for the unusual taste of brown rava.

You will need :-
Wheat rava – ½ cup
Onion(large) – 1no
(thinly sliced)
Green Chillies – 2 nos
Ghee – 1 TSP
Coconut milk – 1 ½  Tumbler
Salt as Req
For tempering:-
Oil – 2 Tbsp
Mustard – ¼ Tbsp
Bengal gram – ¼ Tbsp
Curry leaves – 5nos
Garnishing:-
Coriander leaves- ¼  cup

Preparation Method:

Add Ghee  and saute rava  in it ,until it becomes bit hot and u get d aroma, then keep it aside.
(Not Necessary that rava should become brown, it shld just become hot)
Heat oil in a pan and temper with mustard, bengal gram and curry leaves.
Add green chillies, salt and fry the onions till transculent.
Add 1 Tumbler water, once it boils add the Fried rava.

Once the water is dried & rava is cooked add coconut milk.
Add one drop of ghee, mix well and Garnish with Coriander  & Curry leaves

Serve hot with the Aroma of Ghee and coconut milk…..
